Dr. Al Khemir—At BYU Museum of Art
The objects are of all media. There are works on paper, metalwork, ceramics, you name it, jade to earthenware. So it’s really the transformation of material. It’s this visual language that was expressed in all sorts of material and that has brought together this visual language that we’re talking about. And the idea of this exhibition is not only to have masterpieces, because it does include fantastic star pieces, but also to include the humble objects, because both, you know, the star objects and the humble objects are brought together through this, you know, vision. And through Islamic culture and its way of thinking and its way of seeing the world and you find it equally in the star objects as the humble objects.
